So, I called SBC, they called Whisler to verify that I was indeed the only tenant in the property unit. Mind you, this is why I called them last Wednesday, so that there wouldn't be any delay, but no, they smiled and said, "Everything's fine, the line's being shut off on Friday, your phone will be connected on Friday." If they'd actually paid attention to what I had told them on Wednesday, everything might be fine. But no.
So, despite my planning ahead, my making an extra effort to confirm that the problem had been taken care of so that there wouldn't be a delay, I now won't have a phone until Feb 3, because that's the soonest they can get a technician out to connect my line.
I'm already beginning to regret returning to SBC.
