GAH!!!

So, I called SBC, they called Whisler to verify that I was indeed the only tenant in the property unit. Mind you, this is why I called them last Wednesday, so that there wouldn't be any delay, but no, they smiled and said, "Everything's fine, the line's being shut off on Friday, your phone will be connected on Friday." If they'd actually paid attention to what I had told them on Wednesday, everything might be fine. But no.

So, despite my planning ahead, my making an extra effort to confirm that the problem had been taken care of so that there wouldn't be a delay, I now won't have a phone until Feb 3, because that's the soonest they can get a technician out to connect my line.

I'm already beginning to regret returning to SBC.

Citizens utility is worse, and Roseville telephone is horrific. I have had all three, and among the three SBC is the best.

Connect your line? What the frell? When I had mine set up they said they didn't have to connect anything; that they could turn it on from the main branch just by flicking a switch.

Something's weird with the dorkass you're dealing with, I think.

Well, the first person I talked to did say they might have to send someone to switch something on the outside of the building, and she was actually pretty helpful and coherent, but I fail to see why they can turn off the old line from the office, but can't turn on the new line.

I'm sick of dealing with the dorkasses though, so I'll live for two days more. I tell ya though, I'll throw a major hissy if they don't get it turned on by Thursday.
