From [livejournal.com profile] khanfused:

1) Which roles / characters have you played in Rocky? (Yes, I'm aware that I know squat about who those characters are.)

I've played every character at least once. Frank and Rocky I've played Once and Only Once. Eddie/Dr. Scott/Criminologist are roles I've played a few times in a pinch, but only a few times. Brad, Janet, Riff, Magenta, Columbia and Trixie are all roles that I consider primaries for me. I've studied them, gathered costumes, and could probably still jump into any one of them easily enough now.

2) What's one "fork in the road" you could have taken differently in your life?

I probably could have finished my second year at Cottey College. I left because I couldn't get the finiancial aid due to the laws changing that year and me being under 25 and not considered independent. I probably could have scraped together the money with scholarships and loans if I had really wanted to.

3) How do you think your life might be now, if you'd taken that different path?

Tough to say. My relationship with Frankie would have lasted longer. Knowing my emotional maturity, that probably wouldn't have worked out well. I suspect I still would have ended up in Springfield to finish my degree, but there's also the possibility that I might have come back to California, to George. If he hadn't come to Missouri when he did, I might not have become quite so disillusioned as soon as I had.

4) Conspicuous consumption alert -- some silly person just handed you a loaded Platinum card. What kind of REALLY big-ticket not-really-that-useful item would you buy? (... and remember ... dream big ... )

Hell, I'd be gone. I'd by that plane ticket to Europe and beyond, as far as the credit limit will get me.

5) Have you ever had a day out of a Maxfield Parrish painting? (If it's shareable) ... what kind of day was it?

Y'know, I've had moments, I think, but most of those moments follow the journey to reach that perfect place which is usually quite challenging (like Enchanted Rock in the Texas Hill Country - amazing, magical peace at the top with a view of all of Texas, but the climb is a bitch), so I don't think I could count it as a whole day.

Questions from [livejournal.com profile] devafall:

1. How do you identify, culturally and ethnically?

Um...none of the above? Late 20th Century Mid American? 3rd Generation removed White Trash? I was raised so incredibly generically, there aren't even really any family-specific traditions that have been passed on. I think I pretty much always knew that my great grandmother was German, and as an adult, I've learned that her husband was English and Irish. Beyond that, the answers to the question "Where did we come from?" don't seem to reveal much more than Kansas, Minnesota, California. But, while my family seems to be about as plain American as you can get, I don't really feel like I think like an "American" or view the world in the same way. At the same time, I don't really feel any kind of bond or identification with any of those places where my ancestral roots can be traced.

I think that brings us back to "none of the above," doesn't it?

2. Describe your spiritual leanings, beliefs, or practices.
I tend to use the phrase "non-practicing pagan." I don't know that I really fit any particular label. I believe in all the gods, I don't actively worship any, although in certain circumstances you might catch me whispering something to Thor or Frigga or Freya. I don't follow any specific rituals or practices in my daily life. My basic philosophy is that we're here in this world to learn, and when we've learned everything we can in this life, we go onto the next. The gods are there to help out when we need it or to sit back and laugh while we fall on our faces when we need it.

3. Name an actor you'll watch in anything, no matter how bad.

Janeane Garafolo. No question.

4. What is your favourite colour, and why?

It changes often, but for the last year or more it's been purple - deep, dark purple. Mainly because it makes me happy.

5. What should we do, next time we hang out together?

Road trip!!!! Let's go for a drive. Let's find some windy roads in the hills, put on some great music, sip caffinated beverages and enjoy some quality conversation.
