I do like the idea of meeting new people, however, there are some things that make me not sure if I want to go this time. Last time was kind of fun, but it was mostly my own Inner Circle of friends who I usually hang out with. While that helps me some, since I'm so shy and need a metaphorical security blanket at times, it also didn't encourage getting to know anyone new. Of course, with the exception of [livejournal.com profile] ilk there didn't seem anyone there I really wanted to get to know, and worse, there was one in particular with whom I don't particularly care to share air space again at all. This time, while I know the list of attendees will most likely be different, I suspect (although no one's actually mentioned it) that the Inner Circle is less interested in going this time. It's also at True Love, which has never felt very warm and inviting to me. Which leaves introverted me to go wandering alone into a place where I've never felt terribly comfortable.

I notice I never actually updated again after Saturday Morning, so here's the scoop.

I joined Elli and Gabby at Elli's place just before noon, bearing crumpets and jam. The next trick was calling Laura, giving her incredibly detailed instructions on how to navigate the downtown grid, and waiting for her to arrive. Then, the fun began.

I did hair and make-up, then Elli squeezed me back into the corset from Friday, only it was done much tighter since I didn't have to worry about walking around a lot. Then lots of "costume" changing, and hair rearranging, and posing, and changing of film and transferring digital to the computer and more posing and oh dear gods this corset is starting to hurt, finally, hours later, we were done.

I've got the prints from Laura today, which I'll scan and post (the good ones at least) on my annoying Geocities page (One of these days I'll get around to finding a more permanent place to rebuild my web pages, but I just seem to have lost the drive after my Webprovider and Angelfire fiascos.) Elli is having fun with Photoshop on the ones she took on digital, and I think Gabby is sending the digital ones from her camera today, too. I'll get my favorites of all of them posted and out there for anyone who really wants to see them.

After the pictures, it was time to gather the Michaels and get ready for Karaoke. We staggered down to The Townhouse. Elli and Michael #2 and I sang. (I flubbed my first song badly, but the second went okay... Michael #1 at least didn't hurt me for dishonoring Patsy Cline). Then we staggered back home. We hung out in the living room talking for a while, it was kinda nice getting to know Michael #2, then Michael #1 drove me home and I collapsed into bed.

Sunday Morning on the Bike Trail didn't happen - too much Saturday night partying to get out of bed. I spent Sunday mostly alone. I decided I'd go rent some movies and order a pizza. So I went downstairs only to remember that Michael had driven me home and my car was five blocks away at Elli & Gregory's house still. I hate when I do that! Talked to Elli and Gabby for a bit when I picked up the car, but mostly, it was just a me day. Oh, and a good movie - Hit and Runway. It's a gay man/straight man buddy flick, about writers and writing and friendship and love. Very satisfying. The New Guy was pretty good too.

Here is the first batch of photos from Saturdays picture party. These were done by [livejournal.com profile] serenica69. Still to come, Serenica's color photos (including a nice head shot of Bacchus the Cat, who proved to be quite the ham), Elisandra and Gabby's digital shots, in both B&W and color, and Elli's film shots that I think are in color.
