Stimulate This!
Jul. 7th, 2008 09:27 amThere are a couple of things that have to be done before I can move into the townhouse with Dave. In addition to little things like rearranging furniture upstairs, going through closets and organizing storage, and getting cable and internet service for two (actually three, since my work computer will be coming home with me soon), the two biggies are getting our bed, and getting the floors done downstairs.
When GW announced the economic stimulus plan a few months ago, we determined that our two checks combined would cover the floors plus most of the bed.
This weekend, we finally had the time to go get them. So, we picked up a truck from U-Haul, since the mattress was not going to fit in the Cruiser, and headed down to IKEA on Saturday.
3 hours later, we had a dining room full of boxes of laminate flooring, along with 4 rolls of padding and 2 rolls of the moisture barrier (we actually need 3 of that, but they only had 2 in stock), a new desk for my home office, bed slats, and a super comfy mattress. The bed we want is actually discontinued and sold out at the West Sac store, but it's still available in E. Palo Alto, and hopefully will still be there when we go visit family in a the area in a couple of weeks. Otherwise, we go with our second choice bed.
And, yeah, that pretty much devoured the stimulus checks. But yay, we're now that much closer to me being able to move!!!
We spent the remainder of our Saturday taking a nap on the new mattress. Super comfy, indeed!
