I am a Domestic Goddess!
Jun. 20th, 2006 12:11 pmI think I'm still recovering from the weekend. Lot's of stuff went on that was fun and exciting, and annoying in spots, but for the most part it was all good. Party on Friday rocked as all good
the_misha/
tiggrrl parties do. Didn't drink nearly as much as I had intended. The body just wasn't going to allow it. But I was still conked out. I got home Saturday and spent several hours sleeping on the couch.
almost_lindsey picked me up to go to dinner at
aleeceh and
elhoff's house, then after an excellent meal, we went on to the G Street Pub to see The Kimberly Trip rock the house. On arrival I learned about the management communication failure that resulted in
tiggrrl not being allowed into the bar with the baby, so I assumed the merchandise table duties for the evening. And Yay! Lots of sales! I love working merch when people actually buy things!! The show was awesome, despite the apparent presence of a trickster demon in the club, making sure that plenty of things went strangely wrong, but not fatally. Only one minor injury resulted, I believe.
Sunday was another day of minor annoyances. It was bike shopping day!
bractune had picked out his bike about a month ago, but wasn't quite ready to buy until Sunday. We knew that Mike's Bikes didn't have it in the store (although they'd said they could have it transferred over from the warehouse) but last time we'd been to Bob's Cycle Center, they'd had a half dozen of them or more. So we headed out to Bob's. Turns out, Bob's was sold out. "Nope. None of our Sacramento Area stores have that bike," the sales guy said, rather too quickly for our assurance. And that was all he said. No offer to order or otherwise obtain one for us. Not fully trusting the quick response from Bob's clerk number one, we called another Bob's store, and were given the same information, but again, no offer to order one. Sad for them, because had they been more quick to suggest ways they could still sell us the bike, we might have still bought it from them. Instead, we went back to Mike's Bikes, and conveniently, the bike was on sale for $50 off. And they had 9 in the warehouse, and 1 other phantom bike that they had somewhere, but exactly where was in question. They put in a request to transfer the bike to the store, and it should be there today. We'll pick it up tomorrow. And yes,
sunday_drivers, that means
bractune will be ready to ride with us this weekend!! Woo hoo!!
Sunday I also officially started back on the diet. Which means I have to curb my eating out a little, or just be a little more cautious with my eating out choices. But, primarily this means I need to be doing more cooking at home. So I made dinner for us on Sunday night... baked chicken parmesan on a bed of pasta. It was quite the yummy.
And that's where the domestic goddess thing started to kick in. There's something cool about making dinner for my sweetie. I take great pleasure from doing it. And Monday, when he showed up groaning from the sore muscles after his workout, I had dinner ready as soon as he was out of the shower. It's so domesticated of me, and yet I love it. Wondering how long this will last before I decide I really don't like cooking for anyone.
