Terri Who?
Nov. 18th, 2004 07:04 amSome may have noticed I haven't posted in a week. Some may not have. I'm not so lost in my own self importance in that I think that everyone must be hanging on my every word, but I'd like to think that at least someone might have noticed my online (or even physical) absence. So, where have I been? Why so quiet? How is it possible to go a full week without actually seeing one's roommate?
The simplest explanation is one I've used before, but is indeed fitting: All available power has been routed to life support.
The gorey details of my life for the last 6 days:
Friday: Worked 10 hours. Groggy and sniffly all day. Leave work, drive to Kevin's. Realize halfway there that the grogginess and sniffliness is not just exhaustion but an actual cold and oh, crap, I'm sick. Greeted in Sunnyvale with yummy warm tomato soup and put to bed.
Saturday: Feeling better, but still stuffy and low energy. Did some shopping (including a stop for Barbie clothes: "There! That's the perfect dress to drench with blood!"), then curled up on the couch with Kevin and watched Pride & Prejudice for several hours. Went out to dinner at a nice little Italian place. Came home, went back to sleep.
Sunday: Slept late. Finished P&P, ran a few more errands. Napped on Kevin's lap. Drove home. Went to bed.
Monday: Worked 10 hours. Came home. Ate. Napped on couch until Everwood started. Started tape recording and went to bed.
Tuesday: Worked 9.5 hours. Went to piano class. Came home and ate grilled cheese sandwich while watching tape of Everwood. Set VCR to record Gilmore Girls. Went to Sac Bi Women's Network meeting. Came home. Slept.
Wednesday. Worked 11 hours. Went to parents house to say goodbye to Dad & Linda who are moving to Idaho this weekend. Went home. Watched Gilmore Girls. Ate. Watched Smallville while taping Lost. Went to bed.
Today, I will be working another 10.5 hour shift. I had hoped to catch at least one NaNoWriMo Thursday Night write-in, but at this point, the novel isn't happening, as I've not had the waking hours in which to write, so what's the point? However, I have new ideas for my old Dragon Story, which gives me some hope of being able to revitalize and salvage it. So, yes, that flushing sound you hear is indeed my NaNo, but with a little work, I should have Dragon Story up and running again.
I'm eagerly anticipating Friday night, both for the TKT show, and for the fact that I will be able to go to bed afterwards and sleep as long as I darn well please.
