Hey, wait! Isn't that my WHEEL!
Aug. 21st, 2001 08:21 pmSo I'm driving along Folsom Blvd this morning when I suddenly hear a scraping sound from the back of my car, followed by the sight of my rear wheel passing me, pulling off into a parking lot, leaping clearly over the top of a parked Jaguar, crossing the street, rolling mockingly past Firestone and out of sight. I pulled over to the side of the road, (what other choice did I have?) and retrieved my wheel from the nice person who was rolling it back in my direction.
When I say my car is falling apart, I mean it literally.
My step mom came to the rescue with her AAA card but it still took about 2 1/2 hours to get it towed to Sonny's and get back to Rancho Cordova for work. The ever-chivalrous, knight in shining armor, Matt gave me a ride home after work, but we were only about half way there when Sonny called and said my car would be ready in an hour, so Matt dropped me at the shop where I handed over about $100 more than I had been planning to pay for car work this weekend, and left with everything we had planned on fixing fixed, as well as the wheel re-secured to its axle.
I treated myself to pizza, since it looks like I won't be buying food for a while.
I've had a very stressful day.
