Freaking holidays!

So we've been informed that our department's entire senior staff is expected to serve the fancy holiday lunch that we're having for our christmas party on Wednesday. (This would be the lunch that offered a choice of three entrees that include turkey, pork, or pork, and stuffing with bacon, thus completely alienating the vegetarians and largely alienating any kosher Jews or Muslims in the building.) Not only are we supposed to serve, we're supposed to dress to serve. We have a choice of stupid elf and reindeer aprons with headgear, or we can "dress festively" in red or green. Jennifer offered to dye her hair red. I've informed TPTB that the closest to "festive colors" I will get is gold.

I am so ready for this season to be over.
