It is not going to rain today

It is not going to rain today. It is not going to rain today. It is not going to rain today.

It better not freaking rain today.

Today being my only free evening this week, what with my theory final tomorrow (yup, ours got moved sooner, [livejournal.com profile] duncan_blkthrne, but I'm glad; I just want to be done) and a dentist appointment Thursday, and Friday as yet uncertain, I packed up my bike this morning and brought it to work with me with the intention of driving out to the fish hatchery after work, then riding up to Folsom Lake. I need to work on going up, and that's the only place on the trail I can do that.

So, it can't rain. I need to ride.

Oh, I'm screwed.

Seems the ride that nearly killed me on Saturday, if the information I've found is correct, was only about a 250' climb. WTF? I've made it to Folsom Lake with less pain, and that's a 400' climb. Maybe Folsom's more gradual.

Okay. This is beginning to piss me off. I'm going to spend the next several weeks mastering Folsom, then next time I'm in the bay area, I'm going to make it all the way up the Mt. Eden climb... which is only 470'. There's no reason I shouldn't be able to do that.

Grumble

The National Weather Service says it's going to rain a little. The Weather Channel is still being more optimistic.

Bah!

Argh

Rain sucks.

Now, even the weather channel is thinking that it's going to be raining around 7, which, considering traffic and slow moving uphill, would hit sometime during my descent.

I've got 15 minutes to make up my mind.

I'm thinking today is not going to be a good ride day. Any chance the [livejournal.com profile] sunday_drivers want to try a little climbing this weekend?

Phooey. Well, Friday is "Ride Your Bike to Work Day," so I'll make that a wake early and ride in day.

Tonight, I guess I make lemon bars.
